Ohio State University's J. T. Barrett arrested for Ovi early Saturday morning

It appears that Ohio State's J.T.Barrett was arrested early Saturday morning for Ovi in Columbus. It really is pretty sad that this happened and I think Ohio State University needs to take a stand that they are not can tolerate this type of behavior. I truly understand that everybody makes bad decisions, however he needs to be a role model to the young people and he needs to be fully accountable for his actions.
Ohio State's J.T. Barrett, one week after he made his first start of the season for the Buckeyes, was arrested early Saturday for operating a vehicle while impaired, according to a report by ElevenWarriors.com.
This quarterback situation for the Buckeyes may not be settled after all.
According to the report, Barrett blew just over the 0.08 legal limit on a breathalyzer test. Eleven Warriors reported that Barrett was released to a teammate who drove him home - Cardale Jones.
Jones started the first seven games of the season for Ohio State at quarterback before Barrett took over against Rutgers last week.
The Buckeyes are off Saturday, their only bye week of the regular season. Urban Meyer gave the players Friday, Saturday and Sunday off.
Barrett was elected as one of Ohio State's captains this season, a rare honor for a redshirt sophomore. He has been praised by coaches and teammates as a leader, someone who continued in that role even while he wasn't starting at quarterback.
20-year-old Ohio State starting quarterback J.T. Barrett was arrested early on the morning of Oct. 31 for operating a motor vehicle while impaired, according to Buckeyes site Eleven Warriors, which cites two sources within the Columbus Police Department.
ESPN's Brett McMurphy confirmed the arrest and charge. Neither CPD nor Ohio State has made any information public at this time, and calls to CPD and the Franklin County jail didn't produce any records.
More from 11W:
Barrett was arrested near High and Tompkins, just north of Campus after policed noticed the player attempt to avoid an OVI checkpoint in the area. Per CPD sources, Barrett was cooperative and blew into a breathalyzer, registering slightly over Ohio's legal limit of 0.08 blood-alcohol concentration.
11W also reports it was backup quarterback Cardale Jones who provided Barrett a ride home after his release.
No. 1 Ohio State is on a bye week, with a home game against Minnesota up next. Barrett recently reclaimed the starting job from Jones, which appeared at the time to be an end to nearly a solid year of OSU quarterback drama.
I know that it may seem that I'm being judgmental, however I just think people need to be held accountable to the highest extent of the law. Let me know your thoughts on this subject and whether or not you think that Barrett should be suspended for the rest of the year. Or should he be allowed to get treatment?
